Managing Your Wedding Day Timeline

Make - up and Hair are frequently the FIRST vendors to arrive on site for your special day. This means that in order for your day to remain on time and run as planned it is essential to have a clear understanding of your wedding day hair and make up timeline. Here are some tips that will help all brides, regardless of wedding party size or if you have a planner, keep their day running smoothly.

  1. Have a clear conversation with your hair and makeup artists regarding how much time they need to set up before they begin services and how much time they need to complete each service. At Guidugli Artistry and Design, LLC we provide brides and their planners with a proposed timeline that clearly displays artist arrival, set up and appointment times for each client. We also include touch up and break down times to ensure that we are able to depart at the necessary time.

NOTE: If you are using a planner, make sure to share their contact information with your hair and makeup vendor as soon as possible. This way they can agree on the timeline and will be able to communicate from the very beginning if your special day requires an early morning fee or additional hours of touch up services for the bride. This helps avoid unexpected expenses right before the wedding day.

  2. Think about whether or not you and your fiance plan to have"first look" photos, if you want a pyjama photoshoot with your bridal party and whether or not you desire photos of you receiving hair and makeup services. All of these ideas will impact (1) your photographer's arrival time, (2) what time you need to be finished with hair and makeup services and (3) what time you begin bridal hair and makeup, if you want it photographed. A great wedding planner will coordinate all of this for you, but if you are doing it yourself - consider putting your vendors on an email thread or group chat so that everyone is on the same page.

  3. Have all persons receiving hair and makeup services spend the night at the same place. This way everyone is in the same place at the same time so that if one person overslept another can jump in the makeup chair to keep everything moving on time.

  4. Schedule your most punctual friends and family members FIRST. You'd be amazed at how quickly 5 min can turn in 30 min. If you have six people scheduled for services and each person gets in the chair 5 min after the stylist is ready for them you can easily find yourself 30 min behind. When the first appointment starts on time you are on track for

being ahead of schedule for the rest of the day! At Guidugli Artistry we build in extra time to make sure that we remain on schedule even if there is a hiccup. The last thing we want to do is cut into the bride's time because member's of the bride squad did not adhere to the schedule.

  5. Designate a friend of family member to answer your phone and, if you don't have a planner, designate a person to communicate with your vendors to make sure sure they are arriving wherever they need to and have the instructions they need. This will allow you to have some peaceful moments where you can be fully present with the persons you've decided to spend the morning with as you prepare to marry the love of your life.

We at Guidugli Artistry and Design, LLC hope that you find this information helpful as you plan to have a joyous, stress free wedding day. For more information regarding the wedding services we provide please visiting our bridal page by clicking here.
